Also referred to as congenital glaucoma, pediatric, or infantile glaucoma, childhood glaucoma is a rare condition caused by incorrect development of the eyes' draining system before birth. Symptoms include enlarged eyes, corneal cloudiness, and sensitivity to light.
Treatment includes both medication and surgery, to lower eye pressure. It is the ultimate goal of glaucoma management to optimize each child's remaining vision and help them attain independence and full lives.
